David Di Gianvittorio is a lawyer in our Calgary office with a focus on labour + employment, dispute resolution and insurance law.

David decided to practice law to place himself in a position to help people experiencing even the most troubling of issues. He has always been eager to provide assistance to those experiencing hardship. His involvement in community outreach through working and volunteering with Student Legal Services of Edmonton Criminal Law Project, a criminal defence service for the low-income Edmonton community, has fostered in him a deep sense of responsibility to assist people in navigating the justice system.

He relishes the opportunities to advocate for those who need someone on their side. Whatever the issue, he wants to help people understand their situation, their options, and help them make decisions that are in their own best interests. He is a lifelong learner who will never stop his pursuit of excellence in his practice.

He was able to get a lot of courtroom and advocacy experience during law school through his work with Student Legal Services. He ran trials, including one constitutional challenge. He assisted clients with summary dispositions, peace bond applications, docket court applications and appearances, and he got the opportunity to learn from skilled advocates before entering his articling year. He was also able to gain valuable experience in written advocacy, drafting and filing many legal briefs with the Alberta Provincial Court.

Through playing football in his youth and with the University of Alberta, David developed effective time management skills, work ethic, and resilience which he carries into his practice. While playing football at University, he was named an Academic All-Canadian for proficiency in both school and sport.
